Levi Strauss, a big fish

Today dear friends I will talk about Levy-Strauss, an important academic who made greats contributions to anthropology.

Claude Levy-Strauss was a french anthropologist. He started studying philosophy but with time, sociology, geology and other topics attracted him more. In 1934 became in teacher of Sociology at the University de Sao Paulo. In that place he with his first wife (who was ethnologist) made his first studies of other communities. Since that time, he travelled to Europe to other continents for studying other cultures.

His form of made the knowledge was a innovations to anthropology, because for him what anthropologist should search was the unconscious structure of people, where the culture hidden; all of us are different but we can understand between us because all structural minds work in the same way. In relation to that, other important contributions were the theory of the alliance and structure of myths. This theories take alliance an myths with another perspective (structural), so through them we can find the structure of society.

I know him because in my career have a course dedicated to his work. First I don't understood, but when I learned his methods, I believe he was brilliant.

Thanks Levi Strauss for your mind, you will be always a big fish in anthropology
